Officials draw flak from Mayor in Warangal

Warangal: Efforts are on to improve the aesthetics of the city, Mayor Gunda Prakash Rao said. Inspecting 26th Division here on Tuesday, he expressed ire over the pathetic state of sanitation and directed the sanitation staff to clear the drainages that are full of garbage. Further, he told the officials to speed up the land acquisition process to widen the congested lanes to allow free movement of two-wheelers.

He directed the officials to remove the seized vehicles near Intejargunj circle and take up the construction of traffic island. "We will discuss about the measures to be taken for the beautification of city in the upcoming Council meet scheduled in the first week of July," Mayor said, stating that denizens can meet him directly with their grievances and suggestions to improve the functioning of the civic body.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is keen to develop Warangal on par with the best cities in the country, Prakash Rao said, referring to the progress of developmental works under AMRUT, HRIDAY and Smart Cities Mission. Greater Warangal municipal commissioner N Ravi Kiran, SE Bikshapahi and traffic ACP Md Mazid were among others present.
