Officials raid pvt hospital, try to stop treatment
Vikarabad: The government officials, who failed to extend medical assistance to the suffering people, tried in vain to interrupt the treatment by private hospital here on Thursday. The news in media about the patients being treated outside the Mission Hospital spread like wildfire in the district.
Officials, in order to cover their inefficiency, raided the Mission Hospital. DM&HO Sudhakar along with his deputy Jeevaraj, District Malaria Officer visited the hospital for checking. But they faced the ire of the patients.
They alleged that no medical service was provided at government hospital and the officials cannot stop them from getting treatment at private hospitals. Police had to interfere, and the officials returned.
Superintendent of the hospital Dr Avinash said that umbrella stands were used for administering saline as the number of patients had increased drastically and no additional building was available to accommodate. He also said that he would provide tents if needed.
On other hand, the DM&HO said the hospital had no permission and notices would be served on them if proper documents were not submitted within three days. "There are now testing centers in Vikarabad to diagnose dengue. We collected some blood samples from the patients there and will send them for testing," he said.
