Officials to junk Rs 3.69 Cr worth seized liquor in Telangana
Liquor worth Rs 3.69 crore which was seized after election code was in place will be junked, according to the Prohibition and Excise Department officials. However, the officials are planning whether to crush the liquor bottles with a bulldozer or to sell the empty bottles to generate revenue which could be handed over to the exchequer.
A decision pertaining to it will be taken soon by the officials. According to the officials, the majority of liquor bottles was seized in Rangareddy during vehicle checks.
The excise department has held talks with the officials after the release of the election schedule to prevent the liquor flow from neighbouring states like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.
