Officials told to dedicate a day to protecting trees

Vikarabad: District Collector Ayesha Masrat Khanam directed all MPDOs, MPOs, panchayat secretaries and NREGS staff to dedicate one day for protecting the trees, planted either sides of roads, during Haritha Haram.

Ayesha also ordered that the dead trees should be replaced with new saplings and the damaged tree guards be corrected. Steps to be taken for watering the plants, daily, she ordered, in a statement here on Wednesday. She also said the officials concerned should work with coordination and any negligence regarding this would not be tolerated.
