Officials told to finish fogging in Nalgonda municipalities in a fortnight

Nalgonda: District In-charge Collector V Chandrasekhar directed the officials concerned to take up fogging in villages and municipalities to control the breeding of vectors, especially mosquitoes, that cause fevers like malaria, dengue etc.

The In-charge Collector on Tuesday conducted a meeting with District Panchayat Officer, medical officer and municipal officials of Halia, Chandur and Chityal at his camp office in Nalgonda.

At the meeting, he informed the officials that the district administration has decided to buy 31 fogging machines, one for each of the 31 mandals in the district, through Telangana State Agro Industries Development Corporation, to control the breeding of mosquitoes.

In mandals, the fogging machines should be in the control of Mandal Panchayat Officer and fogging in all villages in respective mandals should be finished within a fortnight, he said, adding that the chemical required for fogging would be supplied by District Medical and Health Department. Kerosene charges and the salaries of fogging worker would be paid from gram panchayat funds, he said.

He instructed the municipal and medical officials to start fogging in municipalities through readily available fogging machines.

District Panchayat Officer Vishnu, District Medical and Health Officer Dr Kondal Rao, Dr Venugopal, Halia municipality Special Officer and in-charge Chief Planning Official G Venkateshwarlu, Chityal and Chandur municipalities Special Officers, District Co-operative Official R Srinivasa Murthy, Housing Corporation Project Director Raj Kumar and others attended the meeting.
