One arrested for cheating, sexually assaulting woman

Hyderabad: A man was arrested on Wednesday on charges of allegedly cheating and sexually assaulting a woman under the guise of marriage under Neredmet police station limits.

According to the police, a complaint has been lodged by a thirty-year-old woman in which she stated that in 2009 the complainant while writing her SSC examinations got acquainted with accused G Srikanth (30), both were usually in contact through phone. In 2016, Srikanth proposed marriage to her and she accepted.

Then onwards the accused has been taking all her salary for the last three-year. Last year, in the absence of complainant's family members, the accused went to her house and sexually assaulted her.

The accused has allegedly not answered her phone in the two months and has been postponing their marriage. On receipt of the complaint police registered a case under sections 376 (2), 420, 417, 493 IPC, and arrested the accused and sent him to judicial remand.
