One held for mortgaging his brother-in-law's house for Rs 30 lakh
The South Zone Mirchowk police arrested a rowdy sheeter on Saturday night for mortgaging his brother-in-law's house without the consent of him. According to police, the victim Khaisaruddin who is living in Dubai along with his family has a 5 storey building Puranihaveli in Old City.
His brother-in-law Imran (a rowdy sheeter), who used to collect rents from the renters and deposit the amount in the owner's bank account hatched a plan and mortgaged the building to the renters and collected Rs 30 lakh from the eight renters. He told them that his brother-in-law sold the house to him a few months ago and utilized the money for his personal purposes. When the owner Khaisaruddin got suspicion on Imran since he was not depositing the rents in the bank account he enquired the tenants and came to know about Imran's cheating. The victim lodged a complaint in the police station. On receipt of complaint, police registered a case and sent Imran to remand. The case is under investigation.
