One held for robbing people offering drug-laced chocolates
Hyderabad: Abids police arrested one Mohammed Akram (47) on charge of robbing innocent people after offering Lorazepam laced chocolates which knock them unconscious.
Police said they had seized Rs 9,000 and three chocolates laced with Lorazepam-1mg tablet.
According to the police, a complaint was lodged on July 26 by U Suresh (25), stating that on July 24 he along with his friend Teja came to Hyderabad for medical check-up at Gulshan Medical Care at Abids.
Mohammed Akram had approached him and continued to talk to him. He suggested that he drink coconut water for fitness, He along with Mohammed Akram went to a coconut shop opposite Gandhi Bhavan metro Station when the latter gave him a chocolate.
He ate the chocolate and became unconscious. The next day at about 3 am he got conscious and noticed that Rs 15,000, a mobile phone, gold chain and passport were stolen, he complained.
On receipt of the complaint police collected the technical evidence like CCTV footages from JN Road, Abids and arrested the accused.
On interrogation, accused confessed that he was involved in similar three cases under Narayanguda, Saifabad and Mirchowk police station limits, the police said.
