One more +ve case surfaces; count goes up to 14 in Telangana
Hyderabad: One more Covid-19 positive case has been reported on Thursday taking the total count of virus-infected persons in Telangana to 14.
A person travelled from Dubai to Hyderabad on March 14, has developed signs and symptoms of coronavirus on March 17. He was tested for Covid-17 and sample result came positive. His contacts have been traced and put under home quarantine.
Flight passenger details are awaited. Meanwhile, 51 samples of suspected cases were sent for testing by the authorities on Thursday. Of them, 21 came out negative while one tested positive.
Until now 337 primary contacts of the total 14 positive cases have been traced and put under home quarantine. Around 88 of them, who were primary contacts to the first infected techie, has completed their 14-day isolation period also.
As one positive case from the neighboring State has visited Galleria mall at Punjagutta in Hyderabad on March 11, the public, who were at that mall on the said date, are requested to stay at home in self quarantine and access health care immediately after the onset of symptoms.
They can also call 104 helpline for further queries, department officials said. Meanwhile, seven admissions were made in the isolation ward at the Government Hospital in Karimnagar and most of them were learnt to have come in contact with the positive tested Indonesians during their stay in the town.
