One positive case reported in Khammam

Khammam: A 42-year-old man was reported corona positive during the tests conducted to seven suspected persons in Mahadevapuram village of Madhira mandal.

According to sources, 35 persons came to the village in two batches in two buses from Mumbai on May 13 and 14. All the 35 people are astrologers and came from corona Red Zone area in Mumbai.

After getting information from the locals about the newcomers, district medical and health officials collected blood samples of seven suspects, and one was positive.

District Medical and Health Officer Dr B Malathi and Additional Collector M Snehalatha visited on Monday made arrangements to shift 52 persons from the village to a quarantine centre in Khammam.

DM&HO Dr B Malathi informed that the corona positive patient was shifted to Gandhi Hospital and shifted 52 persons of the village to a quarantine centre in Khammam'. 10 medical teams are doing house-to-house survey in the village, she added.
