Opposition leaders meet Governor against defected MLAs
Hyderabad: A delegation of leaders of opposition parties called on Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan on Thursday seeking disqualification of MLAs who defected to ruling TRS.
The delegation comprised of Leader of Opposition in Assembly Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, TPCC President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Telangana TDP President L. Ramana, Telangana Jana Samitha president Prof. M. Kodandaram, ex-MLC Mohammed ali Shabbir, MLA Jagga Reddy and others.
Speaking to media persons after meeting the Governor, Bhatti said that the Governor has been requested to intervene immediately to protect democracy in Telangana State. He said Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has been openly violating the Constitution by luring Congress MLAs to his party. However, he said no action has been taken by Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy on the Disqualification Petition filed by the Congress party against MLAs who defected to TRS.
Bhatti said that the politics being practiced by KCR was a serious threat to the democracy and Constitution. Therefore, he said that the Governor should immediately intervene and disqualify the MLAs who defected to the ruling party against the law.
