Organ donation saves thousands of lives
Karimnagar: Organ donation will save thousands of lives, stated District Revenue Officer Bikshu Nayak. He along with the members of Organ Donors Association released posters and pamphlets for creating awareness about organ donation among the people here at DRO chamber on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, DRO Biskhu Nayak urged the people to come forward for donating organs, which will save the lives of fellow human beings, who are in need. By donating eyes, two blind persons can get vision and by donating body to medical students, they can use it for conducting various experiments.
If any healthy person dies of accident or brain-dead people due to prolonged disease can donate their liver, heart, kidneys, small intestines, bones, bone marrow and eyes. Patients, who are suffering with chronic diseases and those about to die, can be saved by transplanting the organs they require and can be given rebirth to them.
Those interested in donating organs must take membership in the association and in case if any person is expired, their relatives can donate the organs to the needy people, he added.
Organ Donars Association State general secretary Dr P Ashok, district general secretary Goli Vinod, Kyasa Srinivas and Naganuri Santosh were present with others.
