Mahbubnagar: The authorities of Jayaprakash Narayana Engineering College at Dharmapur village in Mahbubnagar conducted an orientation programme for the newly-admitted first year engineering students on Thursday.
The main objective of this orientation programme was to create awareness and instil confidence among the newly-admitted students.
While taking part as chief guest of the programme, JPNCE chairman Ravi Kumar remembered late S Jaipal Reddy, former Union Minister, who had passed away recently and said that Jaipal Reddy was the inspiration for him to set up an engineering college in Mahbubnagar. "Jaipal Reddy was a visionary leader.
He was the one who had inspired me to set up an engineering college in Mahbubnagar and urged me to provide technical education to the rural people. Today, I am really grateful to the departed leader who stood as a godfather and helped me move ahead to set up this engineering college," recollected the JPNCE Chairman.
Earlier, Ravi Kumar garlanded the portrait of Jaipal Reddy and observed silence for two minutes.
