Our fight is to unseat BJP: Tammineni
Nalgonda: Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) State secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram said on Friday that the party's main agenda was to defeat the BJP besides strengthening the CPM party base.
Addressing the party district executive meeting at Nalgonda along with former MLA Julakanti Ranga Reddy on Friday, he said the party's main agenda was to ensure the formation of a secular government at the Centre in the ensuing Parliament elections.
It may be mentioned here that Tammineni is touring Nalgonda, Bhongir, Khammam and Mahabubabad as part of preparing the cadre and leaders of both CPM and CPI for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.
He said that the party has come to an understanding with the CPI to contest in the ensuing elections in the locations where each one of them was stronger and to extend support to one another. As part of this, both parties have decided to contest Nalgonda, Bhongir, Khammam and Mahabubabad LS seats, he added.
Both the parties have come to an understanding of content in the elections in limited seats based on their strengths. Accordingly, the CPM will be contesting Nalgonda and Khammam Parliament seats. Candidates for the two seats would be announced on Saturday, he said.
That apart, in some places candidates from Bahujan Left Front (BLF) would be contesting and the party would extend its support to the parties that are against the BJP, he said. Responding to the TRS claim to play a key role at the Centre if it wins 16 seats, Tammineni said, "The pink party can do nothing even if wins all 16 seats."
