Padara Tahsildar suspended for accepting bribe in Nagarkurnool
Nagarkurnool: Nagarkurnool District Collector E Sridhar had suspended Padara Tahsildar and issued suspension notices in this regard on Wednesday. With the video of Tahsildar Mallikharjun Rao going viral on social media with him accepting the bribe money and counting it, the Nagarkurnool District Collector, after conducting a detailed inquiry into the matter, was convinced of Tahsildar's involvement in the incident and issued suspension orders.
According to sources, earlier Mallikharjun Rao had agreed to issue patta passbooks to a farmer in Ippalapally village of Padara mandal. However, the Tahsildar demanded an exorbitant amount from the farmer for the official service. Finally, the Tahsildar agreed for an amount and the same was received from the farmer at his own home. The video of the Tahsildar taking the bribe money and counting it uploaded onto social media has gone viral.
Even the news channels and print media carried it extensively. Taking cognisance of this, the District Collector conducted an enquiry and after ascertaining the authenticity of the video, he issued suspension orders.
"We will not tolerate officials involving in the corrupt practices while delivering official duties. Strict departmental action will be taken against the officials who take bribes," informed the Collector.
