Paddy, maize procurement centres opened in Alampur

Nagarkurnool: Paddy and maize procurement centres were opened at Achampet in Nagarkurnool and Alampur in Gadwal districts respectively on Monday.

Going into details, Achampet MLA Guvvala Balaraju inaugurated the newly set up paddy procurement centre on Monday and urged the farmers to make maximum utilisation of this opportunity. "The State government has taken all necessary steps to help the paddy farmers to provide better marketing facilities for their produce and has set up paddy procurement centres across all major mandals in the district. The farmers must utilise this opportunity and sell their produce at these procurement centres and can get minimum support price (MSP)," said the Achampet MLA.

Local sarpanch of Achampet Katla Saritha and Zillah Parishad Territorial Constituency member Pratap Reddy said that they are happy with the opening of the new paddy procurement centre for the farmers in the Achampet region. The farmers from the surrounding regions can utilise this centre and sell their paddy to the government and can earn good returns. In Alampur market yard, local MLA Abraham inaugurated a new maize procurement centre on Monday and urged the maize farmers to not to sell their produce to the brokers and middlemen or private traders as they will not pay them minimum support price. While the State government which is procuring their produce will pay them an MSP of Rs. 1760 per quintal.

"The maize farmers must utilise this facility in Alampur and get good returns for their hard earned produce," said Abraham. District Zillah Parishad chairman Saritha Tirupataiah along with other local leaders participated in the programme.
