Patancheru: Children learn actively through games & songs

Patancheru: Games and songs facilitate easy assimilation of lessons by children. This was successfully displayed by the Anganwadi teachers by conducting an experiment in Rudraram village on Friday at the Anganwadi centre during the 'Balamela' programme for children. Children would be attracted towards such programmes, the teachers explained.

Among those present were ICDS supervisor Ramalakshmi, Panchayat Secretary Veeresham,ZPHS Headmistress Rama, Rudraram, Kandi and Ramachandrapuram Anganwadi techers and staff of Azeem Premji Foundation. Sarpanch Sudheer Reddy and ICDS CDPO Chandrakala, who attended as guests, lauded the programme by the Anganwadi teachers.

They observed that holding of conversation and song programme, story sessions, besides drawing, would pave the way for development of language in children, besides social and mental awareness, and boosting of physic, creativity and thinking process.They pointed out that there was scope for 85 per cent mental development in children aged below six years after getting exposure to such programmes.
