Pattana Pragathi bears fruits for towns, cities, says KTR

Hyderabad: Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao on Friday said that the Pattana Pragathi' programme by the government was a step towards the upliftment of towns and cities of Telangana.

Addressing the Additional Collectors in a meeting here at MCRHRD institute, the Minister said that the Pattana Pragathi was a huge success.

On completion of the Pattana Pragathi programme, the Minister reviewed the works of each district and enquired about the status of works with the Additional Collectors.

The Minister said that the Pattana Pragathi programme has played a major role in bringing development in the towns and cities.

The programme has helped in identifying civic problems that have been prevailing since long. He instructed the officials to come up with an action plan to resolve the identified problems.

He also asked the officials to focus on green plans, sanitation plans, and water audits.

The Minister also mentioned that many of problems pertaining to sanitation were addressed during the ten-day programme, which has shown great results in a short span. He said that the programme has played a crucial role in bringing awareness amongst the citizens on the new Municipal Act.

KTR directed the officials to develop model markets, parks, dump yards, public toilets, street vendors zone, nurseries, modern burial grounds, crematoriums, urban lung spaces, open gyms in all the towns and cities.

The Minister wanted the Additional Collectors to have complete knowledge about the municipalities which come under their limits and asked them to come up with proper plans to develop the towns and cities.

Soon a meeting would be held with all the Additional Collectors to review the plans.
