PD Act slapped on NRI Jayaram murder accused
Hyderabad: The Banjara Hills police on Friday invoked PD Act on Rakesh Reddy, the prime accused in the murder case of NRI industrialist Chigurupati Jayaram.
With the invoking of PD Act against him, the accused is unable to get any bail and he had to be behind the bars in jail for one year. The accused Rakesh Reddy presently is in the Chanchalguda Central Prison.
Earlier the Banjara Hills ACP K Srinivasa Rao filed 388 pages charge-sheet in the court in the murder case of Chigurupati Jayaram.
Police said that they have questioned 70 persons during the investigation in the case and mentioned Rakesh Reddy, Srinivas, artist Surya Prasad, Kishore, Vishal, Nagesh, Anji Reddy and Subhash Reddy's names in the charge-sheet.
Earlier Jayaram's body was found on January 31 in Nandigama Police station limits of Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh. By registering a suspicious death case AP police investigated it.
Later on when questions raised on their investigation process and the issue of jurisdictions came into light during the investigation process, the AP police transferred the case to Hyderabad police.
Police arrested eight members including the main accused Rakesh Reddy after interrogating the 70 members.
Several allegations was also raised against the police officials, and based on primary evidences against them the police higher -ups initiated action against the Ibrahimpatnam ACP S Malla Reddy and Nallakunta Inspector S Srinivasulu and Raidurgam Inspector M Ram Babu.
Meanwhile, police has given a clean chit to the Shikha Chowdary, the niece of deceased Jayaram, whose name was heard in the murder case and raised suspicions due to some acts of her.
Police after thorough interrogation gave her clean chit in the case.
