Peddapalli: The main aim of the TRS government is to develop all the villages present across the State, said Welfare Minister Koppula Eshwar at Palle Pragathi programme at police parade grounds here on Friday.

Participating as a chief guest, the Minister distributed tractors to about 62 village panchayats. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Eshwar said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao strongly believes that all-round development of a village will leads to the all-round development of the State.

The CM is striving hard for developing villages and as part of that, he brought new Panchayat Raj Act and allotted duties and funds to all village panchayats, he said.

The CM felt that a change in the society is possible only with the participation of people, hence introduced 30-day action plan and successfully implemented in all the villages. A good response came from the villagers with their 100 per cent of participation in the programme, he pointed out.

The Minister said that the government has suspended about Rs 6,000 crore electricity bills, which are pending in all village panchayats. From now onwards, every village panchayat must pay the electricity bill without keeping it pending. There is a need to keep the village surroundings neat and clean. He ordered the officials concerned to collect penalty from the people, who throw wastes on road.

Minister Eshwar ordered village panchayats members to use tractors that are distributed by the government for watering the saplings that were planted during Haritha Haram programme and to maintain sanitation in villages.

"The people has elected us by giving their valuable vote for us. It is our minimum responsibility to serve them with transparency," he told the local public representatives.

The State government is going to introduce a special 10-day programme in January and asked public representatives and villagers to participate in the programme to make it a grand success.

Zilla Parishad Chairman Putta Madhu, District Collector Devasena, MLA D Manohar Reddy, Joint Collector Vanaja Devi, ZP vice-chairperson Renuka, District Panchayat Officer V Sudarshan and officials were present along with others.
