People take oath not to use plastic

Parigi: The 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi were held on a grand note in Jafferpalli village on Wednesday. Sarpanch Anitha administered oath to the villagers not to use plastic in the village.

District president of BC Welfare Association Lal Krishna Prasad distributed two dustbins for dry and wet waste and a jute bag to encourage plastic-free use. He told the villagers to segregate waste as dry and wet with the bins provided. He also suggested them to use jute bag, instead of plastic one.
