Kothagudem: PF, medical facilities sought for SCCL contract staff
Kothagudem: Centre for Indian Trade Unions State vice-president of Singareni Collieries Company Limited Y Krishnaiah on Friday demanded the company's high-power committee to extend good salaries besides provident fund and medical facilities to contract workers of the company. The contract employees Joint Action Committee met the Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner K Shyam Sunder in Hyderabad seeking his intervention in solving the issues of contract workers.
Before meeting the Labour Officer, the JAC members staged a protest in front of the office. Speaking on the occasion, Krishnaiah demanded the SCCL to extend same pay to the contract workers as that of company staff who carryout similar works. He also demanded to extend bonus for years 2017-18 as per the Coal India circular besides the PF and medical facilities to contract workers.
Later, the Commissioner assured to solve the issues of the workers.
CITU leader B Madhu and JAC leaders Srinu Goud, Laxmi, Bhasker, Samba Rao and SK Yakub Ali and others took part in the protest.
