A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed seeking action against unrecognized branches of Sri Chaitanya and Narayana colleges.

The Board of Intermediate Education, which submitted a report to the High Court said that they have issued show-cause notices to the colleges which did not have a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the fire department. "The sudden shut down of colleges a week ahead of the examinations will cause inconvenience to the students," said the board adding that around 29,808 students were studying in the unrecognized colleges.

The board said that the students also have the exam centres in the unrecognized colleges and sought permission to close the colleges after the examinations.

After hearing the argument of the intermediate board, the court asked the board officials to take action against the colleges and submit a report on April 3, 2020.
