Plans afoot to produce 850Lakh tonnes of coal by 2025: SCCL Director S Chandrashekar
Khammam: Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) Director (Operations & PAW) S Chandrashekar said that keeping in mind the fuel requirements of the country and State, plans are in afoot to achieve production of 850 lakh tonnes of coal by 2025 and are ready to take help from eligible and interested companies, who are ready to provide latest technologies. He participated Australia–India Business Exchange conference held at Park Hyatt in Hyderabad on Thursday.
In this conference, National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC), Central and State government officials, 11 prominent government and private companies from Australia have participated in the conference. An AV was presented on the business association of Australia with Singareni.
Speaking on the occasion, Chandrashekar said that an agreement was made with CSIRO of Australia in 2006 for exchange of technology and with 'Centars' another Australian company for providing training for officials and employees on security system and equipment.
He stated that along with the existing Open Cast (OC) mines, two new OC mines are being explored in Odisha State. It was decided to achieve 85 million tonnes of coal production in the next three years by using latest technology.
Later, during the question and answer session, few Australian companies showed interest to forge business relations with Singareni.
General Managers K Ravishankar, P Sathaiah and others participated in the conference.
