Plant 6 saplings in your house, Collector Dr A Sharath tells people
Jagtial: Depending on the availability of space, every person must plant at least six saplings in their household, appealed District Collector Dr A Sharath, after participating in Haritha Haram drive at Housing Board Colony in Jagtial town on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said the Colony should look with full of greenery after planting saplings on either side of the road and in the empty land present in the colony. Every person must plant at least six saplings in their household and must protect them until they grow to maximum size. Depending on the land availability, people can select either flower or fruit yielding plants, he advised.
If the empty land in the colony belongs to any individuals, then the owners must take care of their land without allowing water to remain stagnant and weeds to grow.
Either they must keep their lands neat and clean or must plant saplings to increase greenery in the colony, Collector Sharath suggested.
Later, the colony residents felicitated Collector Dr A Sharath for visiting their colony and participating in Haritha Haram programme organised by them.
Municipal Commissioner Ravi Babu, ED of SC department Lakshminarayana, officials from Forest department Sadanandam and housing board colony members were present along with others.
