Hyderabad: A writ petition was filed in the High Court on Monday by advocate KV Rama Rao, seeking a direction to stay the bandh call on Tuesday given by the Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao. The petitioner contended that being a Minister, KT Rama Rao has given a bandh call in support of the Bharat Bandh organised by the agitating farmers in New Delhi.

Being a law-abiding citizen, how can the Minister give a call to the TSRTC employees and other government employees to abstain from their legitimate work, which is in sheer violation of various judgments given by the Supreme Court and the High Courts, which have spoken against such bandhs across the country, he said. The petitioner is further aggrieved by the entire State machinery, which has not reacted to the statement of the Municipal Administration Minister.

The writ petition is likely to come up for hearing before a single judge on Tuesday. The Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Home, DGP, TRS party represented by its General Secretary, and the Municipal Administration Minister are respondents in the writ plea.
