Froth infested toxic waters wrecks havoc in Hyderabad

The frothing, putrid waters, mixed with chemicals ails the local residents living in the nearby areas. The Annarayuni Cheruvu in Medchal district is spewing froth. There had been no solutions taken by the civic body and pollution control board to regulate the foam and are merely an eyewash to them.

"There is a lot of froth coming from the lake from nearby industries, although we are not sure which industries are releasing this. Sewage and chemical water are mostly released from the Kapra lakeside".

HDMA sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, said, "The froth could be a result of sewage water being let into the lake." Without providing any conclusive answer regarding the source of the froth, an official said the department was largely responsible for the cleaning up of water hyacinth and the irrigation department must look into pollutants in the lake.
