Karimnagar: Extending support to the RTC employees' strike, BJP MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar along with other party leaders participated in a rally held from Telangana Chowk to bus stand in Karimnagar on Tuesday. The police interrupted the rally when it reached Karimnagar bus stand and tried to arrest the MP amidst the opposition by the BJP activists.

A heated argument took place between the police and the BJP activists, leading to jostling between the two groups. When the police tried to shift MP B Sanjay Kumar to police station, the BJP activists lied on the road in front of the police vehicle and didn't allowed the vehicle to move. They questioned the police the reason for arresting the MP.

During the argument, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ashok Kumar fell. The constable, who is present near him, reacted immediately and helped ACP Ashok Kumar to stand. Later, the police reversed the vehicle and shifted the MP to Karimnagar I-Town police station. The BJP leaders chased the vehicle for more than one and half kilometres but in vain.
