Police arrest three for cyber stalking
Ghatkesar: The Cyber Crime Police of Rachakonda on Tuesday arrested three cyber stalkers from Ankushapur village under Ghatkesar police station limits for harassing a woman by posting obscene pictures and videos on her Facebook account. The accused were identified as V Rakesh (19), Ch Mahesh (23) and Mohammed Ghouse (21).
According to the officials, the accused and the victim are from the same village. It is learnt that the accused Rakesh had proposed the woman for marriage. However, the woman rejected the marriage proposal.
A dejected Rakesh, with an intention to harass the woman, logged into her facebook account as he already knew the user ID and password and posted obscene pictures and messages on her FB account. He also posted phone numbers of the victim and parents with unsolicited and obscene messages, due to which they received phone calls and messages from strangers. Mahesh and Ghouse helped Rakesh in committing the offence.
During the course of investigation, basing on the technical evidence, the accused were traced at Ankushapur village of Ghatkesar mandal and taken into custody. On interrogation they confessed to their role in the commission of offence. The accused have been sent to judicial custody.
Rachakonda Cyber Crime police also advised netizens not to disclose their passwords to anyone and not to share any information with strangers over any media.
