Police arrest two inter-state burglars in Mancherial
Mancherial: Police on Wednesday arrested two inter-State burglars and recovered gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 11.80 lakhs from them.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Ramagaundam Commissioner of Police V Satyanarayana said the accused Tekam Ramu (24), native of Mandamarri town and Ramatenki Saraiah (22) of Bhogampalli village of Palakurthi mandal, Peddapalli district, were arrested while moving suspiciously in Mancherial town on Tuesday night.
Police recovered 74.42 tolas of gold and one and a half kg silver ornaments from their procession.
The duo had confessed of committing burglaries in different regions of the district and neighbouring Peddapalli, Jagtial, Warangal, Karimnagar and Bhupalpalli districts and other places in Telangana State. They admitted that they are into robberies after addicted to lavish lifestyle.
The duo revealed that after committing offenses in the State, they will go to Jammu and Kashmir and will sell helmets there. They will use the SIM cards bought in Telangana State to mislead investigating officials.
Tekam Ramu was booked in 12 cases and Saraiah was booked in 50 cases of house burglaries, including 20 non-bailable cases in different parts of Telangana State.
Mancherial Deputy Commissioner of Police Rakshita K Murthy, Inspector Mahesh and others were present.
