Police Commissioner inspects arrangements for idol immersion in Khammam

Khammam: Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal informed that all necessary arrangements were being made for the immersion of Ganesh idols at Munneru Vagu and at Prakash Nagar areas.

The Commissioner along with Mayor Papalal and Municipal Commissioner Srinivas conducted a meeting all police officials and discussed the arrangements. Later, they inspected the immersion points at the Munneru Vagu.

Tafseer Iqbal directed the departments of Revenue, Municipal, Roads and Buildings and Power to coordinate and make sure that the immersion was done in a peaceful manner. He informed that over 2,000 Ganesh idols would be immersed this year.

Adding that CCTV cameras were installed at all the immersion points, he informed that two cranes and barricades were also arranged for the safety.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner had appointed six Assistant Commissioners of Police, 13 Circle Inspectors, 40 Sub Inspectors, 79 Assistant Sub-Inspectors and head constables, 306 constables, 201 home guards for the programme.

Stating that blaring sound systems are prohibited during the procession, the Commissioner informed that traffic rules would be strictly implemented all centres, and appealed to the people to follow the rules and cooperate with the police department for peaceful conduct of immersion programme.
