Police seize 23 kg ganja; 4 held
Hyderabad: The East Zone Task Force officials on Thursday arrested four persons identified as B Bharath Singh (39), K Ramu (26), Konda Reddy Srikanth (19, student) and Ramath Ramesh (37) who were allegedly in the illegal possession of ganja.
The police seized 23 kg ganja, an auto and six cell phones from the possession of the accused. During interrogation, accused Bharath Singh confessed that he is a habituated ganja peddler and earlier he was arrested by Langer House, Mailardevpally, Rajendranagar police and Excise sleuths of Dhoolpet in similar ganja cases.
Due to financial crisis, he decided to earn money by procuring ganja from agency area and transport and sell the same in Hyderabad and earn huge profits illegally.
In this process he came in contact with one Ramu of Chhattisgarh, who resides in the border agency area of Bhadrachalam and Chhattisgarh and decided to carry on the ganja business.
Bharath discussed about transporting ganja in an auto from agency area to Hyderabad with his brother-in-law and friend Konda Reddy Srikanth and Ramath Ramesh respectively and offered them to pay good commission.
Subsequently, one-week ago Bharath instructed Ramu to arrange 23 kg ganja and informed him that he will send his men to collect the same. He directed his brother-in-law and friend to go to Bhadrachalam in an auto arranged by him and instructed them to collect ganja and conceal it in an auto and bring Ramu along with them to Hyderabad.
On reliable information police arrested them along with the seized property. The accused were handed over to Mangalhat police for further action.
