Police seize 40 sand-laden tractors in Mancherial

Mancherial: In a special drive in Mancherial and Peddapalli districts, the Task Force police 40 tractors that were illegally transporting sand from a river on Friday.

Addressing a press conference, Ramagundam Commissioner of Police V Satyanarana said that acting on a tip-off, Mancheiral and Peddapalli police formed 12 teams and seized vehicles that were transporting sand illegally from Singapur, CCC Naspur, Mulkala, Hajipur, Tallagurijala villages under Mancheiral district. Sultanabad, Kalva Srirampur, Sundilla areas in Peddapalli district and seized 40 vehicles and handed them over to the Revenue department.

The Commissioner also warned that serious actions would be taken against those who were transporting sand form river banks illegally. He wanted them to pay revenue fee in their respective mandals revenue offices for carrying sand.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashok Kumar, Additional Deputy commissioner of Police Law and Order Ravi Kumar, AR Commandant Sanjeev, Task force Inspector Saagar and NIBC Raju and others were present.
