Police seized eight quintals of PDS rice in Mancherial

Mancherial: Police had seized eight quintals of Public Distribution Scheme (PDS) rice worth Rs 5,000 and two autorickshaws and detained two persons at Bheemaram mandal in Mancherial district on Thursday.

Bheemaram Sub-Inspector Kiran Kumar said that during regular vehicle checking, the police found out PDS rice bags in two autorickshaws.

They seized the vehicles and detained two persons for illegally transporting the rice and handed over the rice bags to revenue officials.

Head constable Ravinder, constable Ravi, home guard Santosh were present.
