Hyderabad: There is no respite for Telangana government from criticism in the wake of alleged Intermediate examination goof-up. Parents, students, student groups and not to mention the politicos from different opposition parties have left no stone unturned to vent their anger against the Board of Intermediate Education and TRS government over the issue.

Vidyarthi Jana Samithi, the student wing of Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS), held a round-table meet on this issue here on Friday. Politicians, academicians and students took part and expressed their views.

A call was given for mahadharna in front of Intermediate Board office at Nampally here on April 29. Former MP G Vivek came down heavily on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, saying that he was also responsible for deaths of 23 students.

" Autocratic rule is in place in Telangana State. KCR is making this a one-man government running the show from Pragati Bhavan. It is unfortunate that we are witnessing these kinds of goof-ups in the new Telangana State," Vivek said, demanding a sitting judge inquiry into the whole episode.

He also stressed that time has now come for Prof Kodandaram to start one more agitation to ensure that Telangana people do not suffer.

TJS chief Prof Kodandaram alleged that government did not show interest in coming to the rescue of the aggrieved intermediate students the way it is focussed on luring MLAs from other parties.

" It's unfortunate that for saving Globarena interests, lakhs students' lives were made to suffer. Globarena's inefficiency was brought to notice of higher-ups four-five months ago, but they did not take remedial measures.

Parents from poor families who encouraged their meritorious students are saying that they would not have sent them to study as some of them committed suicide after exam results while in SSC they got 9.1 GPA," Kodandaram said.

Former MLC Prof K Nageshwar demanded that the government release a white paper on results goof-up. He questioned the government as to why it did not intervene until so many students took extreme steps.

Vidyarthi Jana Samithi president Ramesh demanded the sacking of Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy and ban on Globarena Technologies.
