'Polling incident-free'
Hanamkonda: The General Observer, Dr Veena Pradhan, for Warangal Parliamentary Constituency (PC) has said that with the administration ensuring fool proof arrangements, Thursday's polling went off peacefully without any untoward incident.
"I inspected several polling stations spread across seven Assembly segments in the Warangal PC and found arrangements were excellent," she said.
Later, she along with Returning Officer Prashanth Jeevan Patil scrutinised polling reports submitted by the assistant returning officers. It's learnt that 80 per cent voters produced voter identity cards issued by the Election Commission (EC) during the polling.
Dr Veena Pradhan asserted that there would be no re-polling in any polling station.
Congress and BJP election agents Dr Riaz and Rao Amarender Reddy commended Prashanth Jeevan Patil for conducting polling successfully.
Assistant Collector B Santhosh, trainee Collector Manu Chowdary, assistant ROs L Ramesh, M Malathi, L Kishan, K Venka Reddy, N Ravikiran, Ch Mahenderji and E Venkatachary were among others present.
In a meeting with candidates and election agents, RO Prashanth Jeevan Patil said that Warangal PC has recorded 63.65 per cent voter turnout.
He thanked the candidates in the fray from Warangal PC for cooperating with the polling staff during the entire election process.
The RO said that they have ensured multi-pronged security arrangements for the protection of EVM units stored at Enumamula Agriculture Market Yard.
