Portion of false ceiling collapsed at Osmania Hospital, 2 injured

A portion of false ceiling collapsed in post-operative care ward of Osmania General Hospital (OGH) on Thursday. A patient who got shifted to the ward a few hours before the incident has suffered minor injuries and also the attendant.

It is learned that the patient was operated around 2.30 am and brought to the ward. The patient who just got out of the surgery was panicked and moved to another war, said a junior doctor.

The ward which is housed in the new block of the OGH is constructed 10 years ago. There were also several incidents took place in the building in the past where the part of a ceiling fell off.

The old building too had several incidents where the chunks of ceiling fell off and injured several patients.
