Preparations on for Chhath festival

Hyderabad: GHMC is preparing 15 lakes for Chhath festival which is celebrated by people from Bihar, Orissa, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh, on November 3-4.

A huge number of devotees pray to Lord Surya and take holy dip in lakes and rivers. GHMC officials are arranging lighting and finished sanitation works at the points where immersions took place.

To ensure the smooth conduct of festival, drinking water, police protection force, toilets and tents are arranged at the lakes.

Even road works are also completed by the officials. GHMC Commissioner DS Lokesh Kumar instructed deputy commissioners and medical officers to conduct inspection at lakes and baby ponds which are arranged for the festival.
