Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police on Wednesday conducted a review-cum-coordination meeting with the representatives of online ticketing platforms, convention centres, major function halls and venues in the Cyberabad commissionerate jurisdiction, in view of regular complaints by general public on the inconvenience being caused by conducting various events in an unplanned manner.

Such unregulated events have led to severe traffic congestion, nuisance and other illegal activities in public places in the recent past. According to Cyberabad police, it was noticed that many a times, particularly during New Year eve celebrations, many unscrupulous persons have conducted events by selling tickets online with exaggerated claims of service and ultimately leading to chaos in public places.

Also, organisers were found to be announcing the event schedule in public and selling tickets online without even obtaining the mandatory clearance from police, fire, excise and other departments.

The meeting was held to inform all the stakeholders to obtain all the necessary clearances before publicising or selling tickets for the event. The police directed organisers to prepare their own traffic movement, parking plan and to keep stock of all the necessary traffic regulation equipment.

The meeting stressed on providing training to security staff of the function halls and convention centres on effective traffic and parking management. The Cyberabad police warned of taking stringent action if any event held in contravention of the guidelines or the existing norms.

The Commissioner of Cyberabad Police, VC Sajjanar presided over the meeting and issued guidelines to be strictly followed by all the stakeholders to ensure public safety in the Commissionerate limits.
