Private drivers refuse to ply buses

Mahbubnagar: The efforts of the state government to operate buses by providing police escort failed to motivate or create confidence among private drivers to take the buses out of depot even after 6 pm on Saturday.

The officials who wanted to operate buses from Mahbubnagar to Hyderabad with police escort asked a private driver to bring the bus on to the platform.

The private bus driver brought the bus to the platform but fearing that it may be attacked en route left the engine on and walked away refusing to do his duty.

Though there were a few passengers, they too decided not to board the bus.
