Private school under scanner in Hanamkonda

Notebooks, textbooks, shoes and other stationery seized from Greenwood High School near Hunter Road in Hanamkonda on Monday

Hanamkonda: The education department officials on Monday raided a private school and seized notebooks, textbooks, shoes and other stationery, following a complaint from the members of Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). MEO Veerabhadraiah Naik, who raided the Greenwood High School near Hunter Road, found that the school management is violating the norms by selling books and other material to the students.

ABVP state secretary Ambala Kiran alleged that the management was forcing the parents of the students to purchase notebooks and textbooks from them. He alleged that the school belongs to Parkal MLA Challa Dharma Reddy, hence the education department turned a blind eye. He demanded that the education department need to conduct frequent raids on private schools and take action if they find any violation of the rules.

ABVP state working committee member Punnem Venu, zonal in-charge Rohit, Sai, Srinivas, Kiran, Prashanth, Chandu were among others present.
