Protect journalists in all respects: BJP leader
Mahbubnagar: Stressing that the state government must provide all necessary protection and healthcare facilities to the journalists who are working as front line worriers during Corona pandemic times, Bureddypally Venkat Ram Reddy, Senior District leader of BJP from Nawabpet Mandal in Mahbubnagar district demanded the state government must provide an ex gratia of Rs. 50 lakhs to the families of deceased journalists who had succumbed to Covid-19 disease.
The BJP leader also demanded the state government to provide a monthly remuneration of Rs. 10,000 to each journalist who is struggling during the healthcare emergency times and urged the state government to provide free healthcare treatment in corporate hospitals to those journalists infected with Coronavirus, while delivering their duties.
Mr. Reddy recollected the death of Manoj Kumar vernacular TV journalists and demanded the state government to immediately release a compensation of Rs. 50 lakhs to the family members of the journalists. "The journalists in the state are adventuring during the pandemic times by sacrificing their lives to give the latest updates to the public. It is high time the state governments provide free corona testing to each and every journalist and at the same time provide corporate level treatment to those infected persons. We are demanding the state government to pay a monthly remuneration of Rs. 10,000 to each journalist and provide them financial and healthcare security," observed Venkat Ram Reddy.
