Mahbubnagar: PU registrar Pindi Pawan Kumar asks students to join Youth Red Cross Society
Mahbubnagar: Giving a call to all students and staff of the varsity, Palamuru University Registrar Pindi Pawan Kumar urged them to take part in the Youth Red Cross Society and extend their helping hand towards the social cause of the people.
While taking part in a meeting with the principals of all government, private Degree, PG, B.Ed, Engineering and Medical colleges in Mahbubnagar, Pindi Pawan Kumar said that each and every student of all colleges must become a member of Youth Red Cross Society. He also urged the colleges also make it mandatory to get themselves registered for the Youth Red Cross society.
Explaining various social and welfare programmes being implemented by the Youth Red Cross, Indian Red Cross chairman Natarajan said, "Through Youth Red Cross Society we are planning to launch various programmes on the topic of imparting moral, ethical, cultural and traditional values for the youth. For this the Youth Red Cross Society is also planning to organise special camps and drives for students."
The Mahbubnagar Red Cross Society chairman also explained to the PU authorities various social works being taken up by it. Natarajan said Akshara Patashala, orphanage and Shantivanam School are some of the social initiatives taken up by the Red Cross Society in the district.
The Lions Club chairman urged the students and youth to help identify such underprivileged, abandoned children and join them to the State home where they can take care of them.
Red Cross treasurer Jagapati Rao said that principals of the concerned government and private colleges must play a vital role in making the Youth Red Cross a big success.
PU Principal Noor Jahan, NSS Coordinator Anuradha, along with 88 principals of major private and government colleges took part in the programme, at the PU meeting hall in the university.
