Pushcarts to collect garbage easily: GWMC Mayor Prakash Rao

Hanamkonda: GWMC Mayor Gunda Prakash Rao along with Commissioner Pamela Satpathy inaugurated pushcarts and distributed to sanitation staff at a programme at Baldia vehicle shed in Hanamkonda on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said that the pushcarts, recently purchased, will be used to collect garbage easily. Stating that there will be financial benefits also if teak plants are planted in the vehicle shed as part of Haritha Haram drive, he directed the officials concerned to take steps in this regard. He also told them to arrange a gate at the entrance of the vehicle shed and to construct an arch and name board. He suggested the officials to put the rusted and parts of damaged vehicles for auction.

Commissioner Pamela observed that garbage collection will be easier with pushcarts, which can be taken into narrow streets and told the sanitation staff to collect dry and wet garbage separately.

Health Officer Dr Rajareddy, EE Lakshma Reddy, DE Narender, Sanitary Inspectors Upender, Anil and Narender, Health Inspector Madhukar, AE Ranjith and others participated in the programme.
