Khammam: Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar has warned temporary conductors not to collect additional charges from passengers in TSRTC buses.

Referring to the complaints that the temporary conductors were collecting additional charges from the passengers, he said that serious action would be taken against the conductors who were found collecting additional charges other than the ticket fare.

Ajay Kumar held a video conference in Khammam with district officials across the State to review the measures being taken to run the RTC bus services in the wake of the RTC JAC strike

The Minister directed the RTC depot managers to display a list of fares to different destinations from their respective bus stations. He wanted the depot managers to give counselling to the temporary staff regarding collection of authorised fares from the passengers.

He said about 50 to 60 per cent of bus services were being operated across the State. As Dasara holidays were coming to a close in another four days, efforts would be made to increase the frequency of bus services to 80 per cent for the convenience of the public.

Suggesting setting up helpline centres in all districts to address emergency situations and to receive public grievances, Ajay Kumar directed the District Collectors to depute personnel from other departments to serve RTC offices and bus stations.

For the service and maintenance of buses qualified private mechanics should be hired, he noted. The Minister appreciated the RTC officials for their team effort in successfully running the bus services.

Roads and Buildings Principal Secretary Sunil Sharma, who attended the video conference from Hyderabad, said for the past five days buses were being run without any inconvenience to people and the same would be continued in the coming days. He directed the RTC officials to allow bus pass holders to travel in the buses.
