Rachakonda police gift slippers to migrant kids
Hyderabad: Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat on Wednesday distributed slippers to 600 Odisha migrant children on the closing ceremony of academic year of worksite school.
At a closing ceremony programme held at Rachakonda Commissionerate Office at Neredmet here, the Police Commissioner promised to continue the driver to eradicate child labour.
The worksite schools have been established with the efforts of Aide et Action, Rangareddy and Yadadri Collectors, Brick Kiln Owners Association and the Rachakonda police.
The sole objective of these schools is to provide quality education to the children of Odisha migrant workers and spread awareness and uproot the menace of child labour.
The schools are providing education to more than 2,000 Odisha migrant children in brick kilns. The children studying in worksite schools have also been taken to outdoor trips for exposures to different atmospheres.
Around 50 children watched IPL match between SRH Vs DC at Uppal Stadium on April 14 along with the Police Commissioner and 30 children from Ashray Akrutha Hearing impaired school watched the match on April 30 between SRH Vs DC.
