Railway track between Manoharabad-Gajwel to be launched by June-end

The railway track between Manoharabad in Medak district and Gajwel in Siddipet district to be launched by the end of this month. The works related to 31-km long railway track between Manoharabad and Gajwel have been completed and trial runs began on Thursday.

The railway station at Gajwel was constructed at a cost of Rs 1 crore and two more stations at Nacharam and Begumpet were also developed between Manoharabad and Gajwel railway stations. The railway track was built as a part of 151-km railway line between Manoharabad and Kothapally in Karimnagar district which is estimated to be of Rs 1,061 crore.

The then irrigation minister Harish Rao laid the foundation for the railway track in 2017 after the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao released a grant of Rs 77 crore to expedite the railway track works. With the completion of the railway line, the dreams of Siddipet people to have a railway line has been fulfilled.

The first phase (Manhorabad-Gajwel) of the 151-km railway line has been completed, it will later be extended to Siddipet, Sircilla and Kothapalli in the next phases.
