Fogging taken up at quarantined houses

Rajendranagar: Areas across Rajendranagar where some suspected cases of covic-19 were identified and were instructed to maintain 'self-isolation,' the staff of entomology wing of GHMC was seen fogging and spraying as part of a disinfection campaign. They began the task on Tuesday to arrest further spread of the deadly virus.

As a precautionary measure, the staff took up fogging and spraying on trial basis on Tuesday in areas such as Markandeya Nagar, Bhavani Colony, Kings colony and Shastripuram a  s part of their disinfection campaign. "We have constituted 20 teams for all five divisions of Rajendranagar circle such as Attapur, Rajendranagar, Sulaiman Nagar, Shastripuram and Mailardevpally. As soon as we get the list of the areas having suspected cases of covid-19 from the higher authorities, we will formally start the disinfection campaign from tomorrow. If needed, we will increase the number of teams to cover all the areas in the circle," informed assistant entomologist Udai Kiran.

Asserting that the best way to fend off the corona virus is for people to confine to their houses, he said "we could do our best to keep the things right in our favour by taking all precautionary measures seriously. Spraying of sodium hypochlorite will be done at spots like piled-up garbage and stagnation of water causing stink in order to contain the spread of any sort of infection," he added.
