Ramagundam: Special drive on number plate morphing of vehicles conducted
Ramagundam: Special drive on number plate morphing of two-wheeler vehicles was conducted under the leadership of traffic Inspector, G Ramesh Babu in Ramagundam and Godavarikhani of Peddapalli district on Thursday.
Receiving the orders from the Police Commissioner Sathyanarayana, DCP Ravinder and ACP Umendar, the Ramagundam traffic police conducted a special drive on morphing of number plates of new vehicles and seized around 105 vehicles along with imposing penalty of Rs 60,500 on the vehicle owners.
Speaking on the occasion, the Traffic Inspector, G Ramesh Babu said that the vehicles which did not use TR number, bending of number plates, pasting stickers, disappearance of numbers on the plate, were all seized in the drive and gave counselling to the vehicle owners.
He said that after purchasing any new vehicle, a TR number will be allotted to it, those who purchase the new vehicles must use that number until a permanent number is allotted to their vehicle. Some people intentionally are not using the permanent number to escape from the challans and are pasting stickers on the number plate, some are bending the number plate which is not correct as per the traffic rules, he said.
Such people are overspeed vehicles, involve in chain snatching and anti-social activities. So, the vehicles which do not have proper number plates will be seized to prevent such incidents and if they repeat criminal cases will be lodged against them, the Traffic Inspector warned.
G Ramesh Babu also appealed the people to follow traffic rules to reach their destination safely. In accordance with the traffic police, we will take necessary steps and will conduct special drives in the coming days too, he added.
