Ramannapet : Students told to play active role in Haritha Haram
Ramannapet (Yadadri-Bhongir): Nakrekal MLA Chirumarthi Lingaiah urged the people to plant saplings under Haritha Haram like a celebration. On Thursday, he took part in the Haritha Haram programme held at government high school of Indrapalanagaram village of Ramannapet mandal in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, he advised Sarpanches, MPTCs and others to take initiation and improve the green cover by involving villagers in the Haritha Haram programme.
"Schools should have a healthy atmosphere with greenery. For this, every student must plant a sapling every month and take care of them till they are on their own," he advised.
He urged the youth to create awareness among people about the role of plants in ecological balance. The MLA called upon villagers to plant saplings on either sides of roads, vacant places and on government offices and schools premises and also farmers to plant saplings on bunds of their fields.
